Polymerisation reactor heating and cooling methods

The heating methods of polymerisation reactor mainly include steam heating, electric heating, hot water heating, etc. The cooling methods include natural cooling, water cooling, air cooling, jacket cooling and in-kettle coil cooling.

Specifically, the heating method:

Steam heating is to pass steam into the reactor jacket or coil, using the latent heat of steam to heat the reaction materials, this way of heating speed, high thermal efficiency.

Electric heating is installed inside or outside the reactor electric heating element, through the conversion of electric energy into thermal energy to heat the reaction materials, with precise temperature control, fast response speed and other advantages.

Hot water heating is to use hot water circulating pump to pass hot water into the jacket or coil of the reactor for heating.

In terms of cooling method:

Natural cooling is to let the reactor cool down naturally without the help of external equipment.

Water cooling and air cooling is to take away the heat of the reactor through circulating water or air to achieve cooling.

Jacket cooling and kettle coil cooling are used to reduce the temperature of the kettle by passing cooling medium, such as cold water or cold oil, into the jacket or coil of the kettle.

The choice of these heating and cooling methods depends on the specific requirements and conditions of the polymerisation reaction to ensure that the reaction can be carried out at the right temperature to ensure product quality and yield.
